PPI is a wholly owned subsidiary of Heinz U.S.A. PPI joined the H. J. Heinz Company family in 1989. In 1994, PPI acquired the Borden Foodservice business, making PPI one of the largest foodservice companies in the US. PPI's Chatsworth facility was acquired as a part of the Borden acquisition. PPI's five plants produce more than 350 separate products. The combined output of all PPI factories and all other H. J. Heinz portion control manufacturers totals more than 27 billion units each year. That's about 108 million units each day.
All the foods we manufacture come in two basic kinds of packages: pouches and cups. Within these two categories are dozens of specialized containers, each designed specifically for convenient storage and use of the particular food it contains.
